Big Eyes began as quick, gestural cartoons in my sketchbook are displayed here at a massively blown up scale. In doing this I am asserting that these unfiltered impulses have the same artistic weight as any other piece that is shown in a gallery. They emphasize the spontaneous moment in which an idea makes the move from the mind into physical existence, and the joys of art-making.
